MEU has celebrated a number of its prominent faculty members and students who achieved academic excellence at the Master and Bachelors Degrees in addition to members who are distinguished at sport and arts fields. The celebration was conducted during an honoring ceremony sponsored by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees Dr. Yaqoob Nasir Aldeen and attended by University’s President Dr. Mohammad Al-Hayla and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Middle East University’s Company Dr. Sana Shiqwara.
In his speech during the ceremony, Dr. Yaqoob Nasir Aldeen stated that MEU is proud of having distinguished academic members and students. He also stressed that the University encourages and seeks to consolidate the concept of excellence and leaders preparation as a way to ensure a promising future for this country.
The University’s President Dr. Mohammad Al-Hayla also praised the achievements of the distinguished students at the University saying that such achievements reflect the quality of curriculums and method of teaching adopted by the university. For their parts, students also reflected their appreciation to the efforts MEU exert in order to encourage them to focus on knowledge in a way that would qualify them to enter the labor market by supporting their innovation and creativity.
A number of faculty members who promoted to associate Professors were awarded honorary shields and certificates of appreciation for their distinguished achievements in helping the university and its students. Certificates and souvenirs were also awarded to distinguished students from the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels and students of sport and art excellence. The ceremony also featured artistic and musical performances performed by the Chorus of the University that won the admiration and appreciation of the crowed.
The Middle East University was founded in 2005 as a Graduate Studies University with twelve specializations. Towards the beginning of the academic year 2008-2009 the university opened twenty specializations for both Graduate and Undergraduate students with the ongoing growth in staff and students.
