AMMAN - KPMG Jordan and MEU will hold a competition for excellence in accounting on Wednesday, 25th of October, 2017 in the University’s main theater. The competition aims at measuring students’ skills in accounting standards, auditing, and related legislations and laws.
The participating teams will be asked a number of questions on the field of accounting. The top three teams will be rewarded by KPMG Jordan.The first place team will receive the golden trophy and a tuition waiver scholarship for its winning students in CPA and CMA courses, in addition to a cash prize of JD 1,000.000. The second place team will receive the silver trophy and a discount of 50% of the tuition fees for CPA and CMA courses, in addition to a cash prize of JD 300. The third place team will receive the bronze trophy and a discount of 25% of the tuition fees for CPA and CMA courses, in addition to cash prize of JD 150 to the whole team.
The competition, which will be organized by KPMG Jordan for the second consecutive year, is part of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between KPMG Jordan and MEU which was recently concluded. This MoU aims at creating opportunities for joint cooperation through introducing specialized programs that award international vocational certificates such as the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and the Certified Management Accountant (CMA). KPMG Jordan is one of the largest and leading companies in the world that provide audit, tax and financial services.
The Middle East University was founded in 2005 as a Graduate Studies University with twelve specializations. Towards the beginning of the academic year 2008-2009 the university opened twenty specializations for both Graduate and Undergraduate students with the ongoing growth in staff and students.
