The top three winning teams: the University of Jordan, University of Petra and Al al-Bayt University
AMMAN- Students from several Jordanian Universities have participated in accounting excellence contest that organized by KPMG Jordan and MEU in order to measure the scientific skills and talents of students in the field of accounting, auditing and related legislations and laws, embodying the concept of excellence and leadership.The competition, which witnessed the participation of 17 teams from several Jordanian universities, has lasted for five hours amid a large attendance of deans of business schools, heads of accounting departments, faculty members in addition to students from several universities.
The final stage of the competition included four university. The first place winner was the University of Jordan followed by Petra University and Al al-Bayt University which won 3rd place. MEU has achieved the fourth place in this competition The competition was supervised by a panel of experts and the teams evaluated according to their knowledge in several topics including: International Financial Reporting Standards, International Auditing Standards, Management Accounting and Cost Accounting, Internal Audit, Financial Ratios, Corporate Law and Taxation.
The Middle East University was founded in 2005 as a Graduate Studies University with twelve specializations. Towards the beginning of the academic year 2008-2009 the university opened twenty specializations for both Graduate and Undergraduate students with the ongoing growth in staff and students.
