AMMAN- An academic delegation from the Middle East University (MEU) has visited the United Kingdom to convened discussions with several UK universities to support and activate partnership with British academic institutions. The discussion tour included the participation of the delegation, which was headed by the Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Hisham Abusaima, in launching the EU-funded program Erasmus+ at Newcastle University.
At the discussions, agreements were reached on the need to train a number of MEU faculty members and students in the field of electrical networks and renewable energy at the University of Cyprus. It also addressed the issue of hosting Middle East University to the meeting that will be held next June for the member universities.
The Middle East University was founded in 2005 as a Graduate Studies University with twelve specializations. Towards the beginning of the academic year 2008-2009 the university opened twenty specializations for both Graduate and Undergraduate students with the ongoing growth in staff and students.
