Amman - Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Mr. Pan Weifang inaugurated Chinese Language Learning Center at Middle East University today. This center aims at enhancing cultural and academic cooperation between the two sides. The event was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees Dr. Yacoub Nasereddin and the President of the University Dr. Mohammad Al Hileh, in addition to a distinguished audience from different sectors. During the event, Mr. Weifang appreciated this joint cooperation. He said that Jordanian-Chinese relations are in continuous improvement as Jordan is a stable and secure country.
In his turn, Vice President of MEU Dr. Mahmoud Al Wadi said that this center will give the opportunity to the university staff and students to learn about the ancient Chinese civilization and history. Also, Al Wadi praised the strong relationships between China and Jordan. It is worth mentioning that this achievement is derived from the royal vision of King Abdullah II for a strategic partnership with China in all fields. Middle East University was chosen as the headquarters of China Arab Technology Transfer Center. The Center was established in 2016, and it aims to promote Sino-Arab cooperation in technology and scientific studies and research.
The Middle East University was founded in 2005 as a Graduate Studies University with twelve specializations. Towards the beginning of the academic year 2008-2009 the university opened twenty specializations for both Graduate and Undergraduate students with the ongoing growth in staff and students.
