Amman- In cooperation with Pioneer Academy and Microsoft Corporation, Microsoft Day 2018 Conference was lunched at Middle East University. Many Jordanian universities participated in this conference which was attended by Her Royal Highness Princess Dana Firas, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees Dr. Yacoub Nasereddin, the President of MEU Dr. Mohammad Al Hileh and a number of experts and specialists in IT sector.
The sponsor of the event, Dr. Yacoub Nasereddin confirmed that higher education sector in Jordan is aware of the challenges it faces, especially in relation to information and communication revolution, which represents one of the most effective solutions to the economic crisis and the development of the country. Dr. Nasereddin called the students to know the importance of IT sector, and to realize that they can create jobs for themselves more than others.
In his turn, the Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology Dr. Abdul Rahman Abu Arqoub stated that Middle East University is keen to organize events that consolidate the principles of partnership and exchange of experiences with civil society institutions. He added that such events affect positively on the students and raise their level and abilities in the academic and applied aspects.
The Director General of Pioneer Academy Mr. Mohammed Al Afouri explained the importance of this conference. Mr. Al Afouri stressed the significance of the acquisition of skill and leadership qualities that qualify the students for labor market after graduating, through refining their personality and teaching them the skills they need in the technology sector.
Furthermore, Microsoft Software Development Manager Mr. Ayman Afaneh talked about the key points that make the so-called digital revolution a milestone in human history. Mr. Afanah stated that the countries of the world are racing to find genius minds capable of developing this industry, and he demanded the students to develop and modernize their potentials to meet the requirements of the global labor market.
The conference included two seminars: the first one entitled “Cloud Based Machine Learning” and was presented by the international Microsoft certified trainer Thu Al Yazan Al Turki, who talked about artificial intelligence. On the other hand, the second seminar was entitled “MCSA2016” amd presented by the international Microsoft certified trainer Ahmad Badawi.
Also, a dialogue session was organized in the event and included the Dean of International Programme at Middle East University Dr. Hisham Abu Saaymeh, Microsoft Software Development Manager Mr. Ayman Afaneh and the Director of Training at Pioneer Academy Mrs. Mona Al Masry. Dr. Abu Saaymeh talked about the international programmes hosed by MEU and the enrollment mechanism, in addition to how to benefit from the opportunities offered by the Deanship to the students.
At the end of the conference, the Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology Dr. Abdul Rahman Abu Arqoub presented certificates and gifts to the participants and the supporters for their contribution to the success of this conference.

The Middle East University was founded in 2005 as a Graduate Studies University with twelve specializations. Towards the beginning of the academic year 2008-2009 the university opened twenty specializations for both Graduate and Undergraduate students with the ongoing growth in staff and students.
