Amman- With the participation of many students, the Chess Tournament was concluded at Middle East University. The Tournament was held at the university level and lasted for two weeks. The Tournament was organized by Sports Activity Division at the Deanship of Student Affairs. Twenty-two students from various faculties and specializations participated. The student Muawiya Issa Shakboua (Civil Engineering) won the first place, while the student Ghassan Awni Maayah (Accounting) took the second place in the tournament, in addition to the student Osamah Fawaz Hamad (Pharmacy) who won the third place.
The Vice-Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Nashwan Abdallah Nashwan honored the winning students. Dr. Nashwan pointed out that MEU aims at supporting youth sport through organizing such events and activities. The Vice-Dean added that this encourages the youth to participate in the Jordanian sport and promote it.
The Middle East University was founded in 2005 as a Graduate Studies University with twelve specializations. Towards the beginning of the academic year 2008-2009 the university opened twenty specializations for both Graduate and Undergraduate students with the ongoing growth in staff and students.
