The department aims to provide medical care for the students and employees. It is concerned with the precious life and health of the human. Therefore, the department is professional and transparent in its work especially with the students for they are the essential pillars of the University.
The tasks of the department include:
1- Offering daily medical examination. A medical file is prepared for each patient after checking the University ID for students and the insurance card for employees.
2- Conducting medical examination for the patients by the department's doctors, and prescribing a medicine on a prescription as well as the medical file of each patient
3- Dispensing the medicine from the University's pharmacy according to the relevant regulations.
4- If a case required laboratory and radiological tests, it would be transferred to medical centers within the approved medical network.
5- Transferring conditions that require more comprehensive medical attention to accredited doctors and hospitals.
6- Following-up the admission of patients in accredited hospitals in coordination with the approved insurance company.
7- Preparing the necessary medicines for the daily need of the pharmacy, and compensating the shortage of medicines within a special mechanism for this.
8- Granting sick leave to students and employees in accordance with the sick leave regulations for employees and university students.
9- Following up the daily insurance problems of students and employees with the insurance company in accordance with the terms of the agreement.
10- Providing daily medical services to the patients like changing bandages and giving injections.
11- Registering the department's visitors in the daily patient register.
12- Documenting daily count of sick leave granted to students and employees in a special register.
13- Preparing what is required of the department by the Presidency and officials of the University.
The Middle East University was founded in 2005 as a Graduate Studies University with twelve specializations. Towards the beginning of the academic year 2008-2009 the university opened twenty specializations for both Graduate and Undergraduate students with the ongoing growth in staff and students.
