AMMAN – The Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at Middle East University launched a new research portal, “MEUGSSR”, on MEU’s recently-launched website.
Dr. Hesham Abusaimeh, the Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, said, “This portal is the first of its kind to be established by a Jordanian university, and its implementation was only made possible with the help of the Department of Information Technology. We look to enhance the quality of our research and have it published in the international “Scopus” database.”
Dr. Abusaimeh added, “The portal offers online research services for MEU’s faculty members, and we look to further extend the reach of our services in the near future to cover local and international universities.”
Dr. Ahmad Tabieh, the Head of the Department of Scientific Research, further explained, “The portal will give MEU’s research community access to the research published on Scopus by MEU’s faculty members, faculties, and the University as a whole over the past three years. Users will also be able to review research results that faculty members have reached over the past five years.”
MEU has set out many plans for the portal’s future. Eng. Raed Al Lahham, the Director of the Department of Information Technology commented, “Our Department will work in cooperation with the Department of Scientific Research to automate the research services it offers. These services will include providing the Funding and Reward Forms on the portal’s website.” He added, “We are currently working on forming research teams both within and outside MEU to accelerate the process of publishing research and facilitate users’ access to information. We have incorporated elements of visual hierarchy techniques into the portal’s design.”
