The Deanship of Students Affairs at MEU organized a private visit to the Anti-Narcotics Department’s National Center for Addiction at the Public Security Directorate, attended by students from MEU, as well as members of the staff of the Division of Cultural and Social Activities.
The visit included an introductory lecture about the center and the nature of services it provides to the patients being treated from drug abuse, and how it helps them overcome the challenges they face. It also briefed the visitors about the community-service programs the center hosts.
The visit was concluded with an introductory tour around the center, after which the center Director, Major Yazan Barmawi, expressed his admiration of MEU’s effective cooperation with the center. It is worth mentioning here that such a visit is a demonstration of MEU’s role in tackling real social issues as Jordan enters its second centenary, including the issue of drug abuse that has become very widespread in recent years. This role extends to offering the Jordanian youth a better life to enable them to create a better future for this country.
