Amman: A theatrical performance presented by the National Centre for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) at Middle East University in the presence of deans, faculty members, and students addressed the topic of reproductive health issues and their intertwined relationship with societal norms, expectations, and judgments.
The performance is part of the National Centre’s performing arts programme, which was established with the objective of increasing public awareness of critical social issues, including those pertaining to women’s rights and human rights.
The performance provided an in-depth look at a number of societal issues, which may result in reluctance to resolve them due to fear of judgement, which may lead many to overlook early check-ups out of caution or urgent ones out of control and treatment.
The performance demonstrated that reluctance toward early detection of diseases can prevent individuals from seeking the necessary medical care or obtaining information about the necessary therapeutic interventions.
The performance emphasised that addressing societal issues requires creating safe spaces where people feel empowered to seek information, support, and care.
