
The opening of the Innovation Centre of the Faculty of Information Technology was officially opened by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, H.E. Dr. Yaqoub Nasereddin, in the presence of numerous prominent academic and industrial figures.
The opening ceremony coincided with a significant event, the Faculty of Information Technology’s Open Day, which served as a pivotal platform to showcase the latest technology trends on a global level.
In the presence of the President of the University, Prof. Salam Al-Mahadin, and the Vice President, Prof. Ahmad Al-Louzi, Dr. Nasereddin remarked that the establishment of the centre signifies the university’s strategic vision of prioritising innovation in the educational process. He further emphasised the institution’s responsibility in nurturing a generation competent in leading global technological advancements.
The Secretary General of the National Charter Party, H.E. Mr. Ahmad Al-Hanandeh, underscored the growing significance of practical skills over traditional academic credentials, exemplified by the accomplishments of students through their projects.
The Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, Prof. Mohammad Attir, stated that the institution is an exemplary educational environment that integrates academic knowledge with a creative applied vision. He further clarified that the student activities organised by the faculty surpass the conventional boundaries of education.
In his remarks, the President of the IEEE Jordan Section, Prof. Mousa Al-Akhras, underscored the pivotal role of the international IEEE organisation in promoting technological innovation. He further emphasised that the institution’s integration into the global network of the IEEE signifies its commitment to providing an educational environment that aligns with the accelerating pace of global technological advancements.
According to Nidal Al-Bitar, Executive Director of Intaj, innovation has become a necessity rather than an option in order to maintain pace with the rapid shifts occurring in global markets.
The attendees proceeded to the Skylight area to visit the exhibition of student projects from the Faculty of Information Technology, where a variety of projects were showcased. This provided a unique opportunity for interaction between attendees and students, giving the event a distinctly hands-on experience.
