
A research paper presented by the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Educational Sciences at Middle East University, Dr. Ayat Al-Maghraby, captured the minds of the participants of the conference entitled “Women’s Leadership in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)/Breaking Barriers.”
Her paper addressed inspiring success stories in applying the STEM approach. Among the models reviewed in the paper, the story of scientist Marie Curie, who was the first woman to win the Nobel Prize in physics and chemistry, stood out as a leading example of scientific excellence, in addition to addressing the achievements of international engineer Zaha Hadid, who is one of the most prominent names in the field of architecture in the world.
The conference, which came under the patronage of Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr. Azmi Mahaftheh, focused on adopting renewed educational curricula and strategies that keep pace with the rapid changes in the world, with the aim of promoting quality education and developing the creative capabilities of future generations.
Moreover, the conference discussed the ways to empower teachers and educational institutions to adopt strategies that support digital transformations and keep pace with global developments.
