
Middle East University concluded the chess tournament, which was organised by the Sports Activity Division at the Deanship of Student Affairs, in line with the launch of the chess club at the university.
The tournament was opened by the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Hazem Ali Al-Nsour, where the club’s headquarters hosted the competitions that brought together 18 students from different disciplines and followed a knockout system.
Abdulrahman Al-Kayyali from the Faculty of Engineering won the first place, while Abdullah Al-Azzam from the Faculty of Information Technology won the second place.
Sports Supervisor Ayham Al-Akhras supervised the proceedings of the tournament, which concluded with the formation of the official university team to represent it in external competitions.
Concluding the event, Dr. Al-Nsour honoured the winners, stressing the pivotal role of these events in sharpening the students’ intellectual skills and enhancing the spirit of competition among them.
