
Amman – The Community Service and Extracurricular Activities Committee at the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences at Middle East University organised a workshop entitled “The Global Cycle of Disability Classification.” The event highlighted the university’s commitment to raise awareness of health and social issues while supporting and empowering people with disabilities through constructive and fruitful dialogue.
The event featured a specialised workshop led by Dr. Hamza Awad, a faculty member from the Department of Physiotherapy. During the workshop, Dr. Awad discussed the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health, a classification developed by the World Health Organisation. He emphasised the significance of this classification in enhancing the quality of healthcare and in facilitating the development of comprehensive treatment plans tailored to the needs of individuals with disabilities.
Additionally, he examined the practical applications of this classification in the domains of physiotherapy, nursing, and nutrition, emphasising the enhancement of collaborative efforts among medical specialities to ensure optimal outcomes.
At the conclusion of the event, the Dean of the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Murad Al-Houli, honoured the workshop presenter, Dr. Hamza Awad, and distributed certificates of appreciation to the attendees in recognition of their participation and positive interaction.
