The General Assembly meeting of the Faculty of Information Technology at Middle East University emphasised the necessity of incorporating advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, blockchain, data science, and cybersecurity, into the educational frameworks of the curriculum in a manner that enables students to apply their technical knowledge in a sophisticated manner. Moreover, the meeting highlighted the importance of curricula reflecting emerging industry standards and anticipating future trends.
In this matter, the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Mohammed Mutair, underscored the institution’s endeavuors to cultivate sustainable and robust collaborations with prominent technology enterprises and entities. He further elaborated that these partnerships offer students a gateway to cutting-edge technologies, mentorship prospects, and prospective technical avenues.
He also highlighted that the objective of the meeting was to enhance the competencies of students by aligning their academic pursuits with professional certifications that would capture the interest of prospective employers, pertinent partners, and experts. Furthermore, he emphasised the significance of engaging them in a multitude of extracurricular activities, competitions, and hackathons.
