Admission Requirements (Undergraduate Programme)

General Secondary Education:

  • The General Secondary Education (Tawjihi) certificate or its equivalent.
  • Adherence to the minimum average requirements as follows:

The minimum admission average for Jordanian students is (60%), except for the Law programme (65%), Formulation of Cosmetic & Chemical Products, Physiotherapy and Nursing (70%) and all engineering and pharmacy programmes (80%). Students should have a minimum score of (%50) in all subjects.

  • Non-Jordanian students may be admitted with a maximum of 15 marks below the allowed average for Jordanians, provided that they adhere to the GSE streams required for joining each programme and have a minimum average of (%50).
  • The Jordanian General Secondary Education (GSE) certificate in vocational streams (industrial, hotel, home economics, and agricultural) is accepted for previous years without additional admission requirements provided that a document from the Ministry of Education is presented, proving that in the year the student fulfilled the GSE requirements, they were not required to study two additional subjects.

 

Bridging:

  • Students holding a Jordanian Community College Diploma (two and three years format) who have passed the Comprehensive Exam with a minimum average of (68%), except for pharmacy and engineering programmes (70%), are accepted in equivalent programmes as outlined in the lists issued for this purpose.
  • Bridging for the Pharmacy programme is limited to holders of the GSE scientific stream certificate or its equivalent.
  • For bridging purposes, special needs students whose names are listed by the Supreme Council for the Disabled and who have passed the Comprehensive Exam (two and three years format) with a minimum average of (65%) may be accepted through the Unified Admission Committee at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in programmes equivalent to their university majors.
  • Students holding a Jordanian Community College Diploma who did not sit for the Comprehensive Exam may be admitted, provided that they sit for the Qualifying Exam held by Al Balqaꞌ University and pass with a minimum score of (68%) for all programmes, except for pharmacy and engineering programmes (70%).
  • Non-Jordanian students holding an associate degree from Jordan (two and three years format) with a minimum average of (63%) in the Comprehensive Exam, except for pharmacy and engineering programmes (65%), are accepted provided that the Diploma programme matches the one the student will enrol in at the University as outlined in the lists issued for this purpose.
  • The University transfers the credit hours the student has completed in their associate degree, whether studied in Jordan or abroad, provided that they do not exceed (%50) of the study programme credit hours (two and three years format), except for the Pharmacy programme where the percentage would be (25%) of the approved study plan.

 

Transfer students:

  • Transfer students may be admitted, provided that they pursue their studies on full-time basis. A maximum of (%50) of their study plan credit hours will be transferred into their study programme.

 

Required Documents:

  • General Secondary Education certificate’s (Tawjihi) original transcript or a certified copy.
  • Students with foreign certificates should obtain their equivalence from the Jordanian Ministry of Education.
  • Photocopy of your passport for non-Jordanians, and the identity card for Jordanians.
  • Photocopy of birth certificate.
  • Military service booklet for male Jordanians or an exemption certificate.
  • Two recent personal photographs.
  • If existing, a certified copy of the Community College Diploma and a certified transcript from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
  • Certified transcript from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and course description for transfer students.
  • Certificate of non-issuance of disciplinary action for transfer students.
