Amman: The Middle East University (MEU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) to enhance business students’ awareness of the investment industry and capital markets.
Dr. Mazen Al-Wafaie, the Executive Director of the Exchange, and Prof. Dr. Salam Al-Mahadeen, the President of university, signed the this memorandum in the presence of Prof. Dr. Hisham Abu Saymeh, the Dean of the Faculty of Business.
The memorandum involved a mutual field visit program, as well as laboratory, technical, and logistical services to create an innovative and entrepreneurial culture, as well as the introduction of a securities and trading educational course in the Faculty of Business.
This memorandum enables the Faculty of Business students to specialise in a specific area of financial practice, increasing their knowledge and opening possibilities to rewarding and prominent careers.
The signing was attended by Dr. Ayman Al-Khazaleh, the Dean of Student Affairs; Dr. Mohammed Othman, the Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Business; Dr. Ahmed Merhi, the Head of the Finance and Accounting Department; Dr. Asmaa Al-Amarneh, a faculty member; and Amjad Al-Qudah, the Director of Public Relations at the Amman Stock Exchange.
As a matter of fact, this memorandum complements the university’s objectives to equip the students with skills and knowledge to become qualified financial practitioners by establishing a simulation room for stock market trading.
