Vision and Mission

The Department of Financial and Accounting Sciences grew up with the emergence of the Middle East University, where it started as a department for postgraduate studies in the field of accounting with the beginning of the second semester of the academic year 2005/2006.

Then it was approved by the accreditation body at the beginning of the academic year 2008/2009 to license five undergraduate programs, respectively: Accounting, Business Administration, Marketing, Tourism Management and Finance which was renamed the Financial and Banking Sciences Program in 2017.Also, recently in the academic year 2020/2021, a bachelor’s program in financial technology was introduced, which aims to prepare qualified people to deal with the latest developments in the field of the financial industry. The Middle East University is become the first local public, private and regional universities by offering the Fintech program based on the university’s approach and mission.

The study plan of the department includes (132) credit hours to obtain a bachelor’s degree in various programs, and the study plans applied in the department are comparable to the best standards and practices at the international level. The department has focused its attention on the quality of the outputs more than on their size, and to achieve this goal the university has been keen to attract distinguished faculty members with expertise in the academic and professional fields, and to work on teaching most of the specialization courses in the English language, which will work to raise the level Graduates and facilitating their involvement in the labor market after their graduation.
