AMMAN- MEU has recently become a member of the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW). This came as part of the University’s participation in inaugurating the proceedings of the 3rd Arab-ASEAN International Conference on Higher Education that held and organized recently by the International Islamic University, Malaysian, in cooperation with the Association of Arab Universities (AARU).
MEU Vice-President of Humanities Faculties Prof. Mahmoud Al-Wadi has represented the University in the conference and delivered a paper entitled “Governance and Strategic Planning: Middle East University as an Example.” More than 69 presidents, directors, representatives of universities from Arab countries and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) has attended the conference.
The Middle East University was founded in 2005 as a Graduate Studies University with twelve specializations. Towards the beginning of the academic year 2008-2009 the university opened twenty specializations for both Graduate and Undergraduate students with the ongoing growth in staff and students.
