Under the patronage of Major General Fadel Al-Hamoud the Director of Public Security, Middle East University participated in the National Forum of University Security. This event represented the visions of King Abdullah ||, which call for proving a safe university environment to keep pace with the scientific development the world is witnessing.
During the event, Dr. Yacoub Nasereddin presented a research paper entailed " Governance and Its Relationship with Community Security in the Reduction of University Violence". Dr. Nasereddin explained the concepts and motives of the university violence, and the mechanism of law enforcement to fight against this phenomenon.
It is worth mentioning that Middle East University held a national conference entitled " University Security... Responsibilities and Culture" last August. The conference discussed the issue of the university security and was attended by many academics, researchers and specialists from different community sectors.
The Middle East University was founded in 2005 as a Graduate Studies University with twelve specializations. Towards the beginning of the academic year 2008-2009 the university opened twenty specializations for both Graduate and Undergraduate students with the ongoing growth in staff and students.
