Legal Department
The Legal Department, with its set of responsibilities, authorities, and competencies, serves as a pivotal instrument in ensuring the integrity and legality of the workflow, as well as the effective delivery of services and academic endeavours. The department provides a legal foundation and framework to the university’s operations, thereby contributing to its legal and regulatory compliance. The department functions as a critical regulatory checkpoint, overseeing the review, analysis, and refinement of draft regulations, directives, and other policy documents. Additionally, it provides expert counsel on these documents and the decisions made by the university’s presidency. The department’s responsibilities extend to the drafting of contracts, agreements, and memorandums of understanding, in addition to conducting in-depth legal research. Furthermore, it is tasked with ensuring the effective implementation of these regulations and directives.
In this capacity, the Legal Department collaborates with pertinent authorities to ensure the university’s affiliates are duly informed of their rights and obligations.
Accordingly, the strategic plan for the Legal Department was formulated in alignment with the strategic priorities of Middle East University and its future directions. The strategy is currently in its third year of implementation (2021-2022), as the department was established in 2021
