Under the patronage of Prof. Ala’addin Al Halhouli, President of MEU, and in presence of Dr. Salim Sharif, Dean of Students Affairs and the representatives of several private sector companies and public sector authorities, the Deanship of Students Affairs at MEU organized a career day in collaboration with King Adbullah II Fund for Development (KAFD) via Microsoft Teams.
Prof. Al Halhouli welcomed the participants from different entities, including banks, pharmaceutical companies, insurance companies, financing companies, career guidance institutions, voluntary work institutions, local community members, and students from different Jordanian universities, with a brief speech expressing his acknowledgement and appreciation of the cooperation and collaboration done to guarantee the success of this event. He also assured that MEU is willing to cooperate in all possible ways to help students and alumni to raise their level of qualifications required for employment and work opportunities, by offering courses that close the gap between education and the job market.
Dr. Sharif also lauded the leading role of civil society organizations who contributed significantly in making the career day possible. He acknowledged their role in supporting the aspirations of the youth to find suitable work opportunities, pointing out to the leading and excellent role of KAFD in supporting students and alumni.
Participants expressed their pride of MEU and their appreciation of its continuous cooperation to aid different entities, students, and different groups of the local community and promote their role in the labour market.
The career day also included a workshop entitled “Working Towards the Future”, delivered by Dr. Fayez Al Badri, faculty member at the Faculty of Business at MEU. The workshop saw the participation of several students and alumni, and discussed different aspects about the foundations, criteria, and professional requirements of job positions, as well as tips on how to create a CV and apply for jobs in a deliberate manner, both locally and abroad.
