Amman: Middle East University has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) with the objective of promoting the advancement of the national cyber security system, addressing critical security challenges, and fostering a culture of technical awareness among all institutions and individuals.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the President of the university, Prof. Salam Al-Mahadin, and the President of the centre, Engineer Bassam Al-Maharmeh.
This memorandum tends to facilitate a national dialogue between cybersecurity specialists, academics, researchers, and policymakers. The objective is to develop advanced cybersecurity defenses and strategies, thereby enhancing national security against cyber threats.
In this context, Prof. Al-Mahadin, in the presence of the Director of the Legal Department, Prof. Anis Al-Mansour, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, Dr. Odai Al-Maaytah, Head of the Cybersecurity Department, Prof. Shadi Nash, Dr. Ahmed Al-Najjar, a faculty member of the Faculty of Information Technology, and Director of the Information Technology Department, Engineer Raed Al-Lahham, elucidated that the university is receptive to all potential avenues that could foster fruitful collaborations, enhance the educational experience, and align with the demands of the labour market.
In response, Engineer Al-Maharmah, in the presence of Jihad Abdul Qader, Advisor to the President of the Centre, Naela Abandah, Director of Communication and Cooperation, Director of Legal Affairs Mutasem Marian, and Technical Operations Manager Tariq Amous, elucidated that the university has its own status, as it is one of the most effective institutions at the national level, and possesses knowledge and technical wealth that qualifies it to be a reliable academic beacon.
