In commemoration of International Arbour Day, Middle East University organised a special event that featured the planting of numerous cypress trees on its campus. This initiative symbolises the university’s profound dedication to promoting environmental sustainability and raising awareness about pressing ecological concerns.
The event, which was held under the patronage of the president of the university, Prof. Salam Al-Mahadin, and organised by the Deanship of Student Affairs, brought together a group of attendees, including the vice president of the university, Prof. Ahmad Al-Louzi, and the dean of student affairs, Dr. Hazem Al-Nsour, along with a number of academics, students, and specialists.
As a matter of fact, these trees are part of a broader initiative to enhance the university’s green spaces, which currently encompass 27 dunums. This initiative is deeply rooted in the university’s commitment to integrate academic education with environmental and social values.
Moreover, the initiative underscores the university’s pioneering role in supporting national and global efforts to address the challenges posed by climate change and to promote a culture of environmental awareness as an integral component of its identity.
