Amman: The sixth season of the ‘University Qur’anic Reciter’ competition, organised by the Faculty of Arts and Educational Sciences at Middle East University, concluded with the participation of 30 students from various disciplines.
This competition embodies the university’s commitment to its role in nurturing a generation that is conscious of the message of the Qur’an and embodies its values in life.
The judging committee comprised Dr. Mohammed Al-Arman, a faculty member of the Faculty of Arts and Educational Sciences; Dr. Mohammad Al-Ghazlan, Professor of Readings at the University of Applied Sciences; and Dr. Anwar Al-Shaltouni, representing the Quran Preservation Society. The event was attended by the dean of the faculty, Dr. Ayat Al-Maghrabi, and several faculty members.
The judging committee adopted rigorous scientific criteria, encompassing the rules of recitation and tawajid, in addition to the aural qualities of the voice and the presence of the performance. The winners, who demonstrated unparalleled excellence and distinction, will be honoured at a special event to be organised later on regarding the results of the competition.
