
Middle East University participated in the Climate Security Intelligence Training, which was organised by the National Centre for Security and Crisis Management in cooperation with the University of Oxford (UK), and concluded on February 20, 2025.
Representatives from the Faculty of Cybersecurity and the Faculty of Media participated in the training, where they received a 22-hour training certificate accredited by the University of Oxford. The aim of this training was to enhance participants’ capabilities in analysing climate risks and their impacts on national and regional security.
This cooperation comes within the framework of the efforts of Middle East University to support applied scientific research and knowledge transfer on strategic issues, including climate security and environmental risk management.
Climate change poses a significant challenge to Jordan, given its limited water resources and the impact of extreme weather events on food and economic security. This necessitates the development of scientific solutions to enhance adaptability and sustainability.
As a matter of fact, Middle East University is committed to its role in conducting specializsed research and providing advanced training programs in the field of climate security. The objective is to contribute to strengthening national policies and building the capacities of institutions to face future environmental challenges.
