
A fruitful meeting between the Middle East University and the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Authority (EMRA) discussed the prospects of strategic partnership and means of cooperation in the fields of training and development, which was attended by the President of the University, Prof. Salam Al-Mahadin, and the CEO of the authority, Eng. Ziad Al-Saaida.
The meeting addressed a number of key topics, most notably the launch of joint training tracks aimed at providing students and graduates with advanced skills in the energy and minerals sector.
Moreover, the two parties discussed the possibility of developing specialised academic programmes in line with the needs of the energy and minerals sector, in addition to discussing mechanisms to leverage the research and practical expertise of both parties.
In her remarks, Prof. Salam Al-Mahadin stressed the importance of this cooperation in developing the human workforce and qualifying them according to the latest international standards, pointing out that Middle East University is committed to creating a dynamic learning environment that supports creativity and innovation.
In response, Al-Saaida emphasised that this partnership reflects the foundation’s orientation towards establishing complementary relationships with academic institutions in order to enhance scientific research and employ it to serve the energy and minerals sectors in order to achieve sustainable development goals.
It is worth mentioning that the meeting was attended by Prof. Anis Al-Mansour, Director of the Consulting, Training, and Languages Centre; Dr. Hazem Al-Nsour, Dean of Student Affairs; and faculty deans, in addition to a delegation of representatives from authority.
