Amman: Students from primary and secondary schools in Jordan were given the opportunity to participate in the Maths Kangaroo Competition, which was hosted by the Middle East University.
The university hosted the competition for the significance of the event in exposing students to valuable experiences that foster a culture of scientific curiosity and inspire future generations of mathematicians.
The students were honoured during a gathering at the university, which was attended by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Education, Ms. Sahar Al-Shakhatera, the Vice President of the International Kangaroo Mathematics Competition in Jordan, Engineer Banan Al-Banna, and representatives of the Consultancy, Training, and Languages Centre at the university.
It is also of significance to note that the Kangaroo Mathematics Competition is held in over 100 countries worldwide and has thus far attracted the participation of 7 million students. The competition was initiated in 1980 by mathematics teacher Peter Halron in Australia.
