Amman: In the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Educational Sciences, Prof. Ahmed Mousa, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Ayman Al-Khaza’leh, and the Head of the English Language Department at the Faculty, Dr. Nassiba Awajan, the President of the University, Prof. Salam Al-Mahadin, honoured the students who had achieved first place in the English writing competition and those who had performed exceptionally well in it.
This competition is one of numerous initiatives launched by the university, including the Dr. Yaqoub Nasereddin Award for Free Reading and Creative Writing. This award was created in recognition of the role of reading and writing skills in developing the cognitive and intellectual capabilities of the human being, enhancing their emotional, interactive, and creative attitudes with the members of society around them, in the hope that this will contribute to the formation of a strong nation with a strong structure.
The first place in the English essay writing competition was awarded to Marah Al-Jabali from the Faculty of Arts and Educational Sciences; the first place in the poetry writing competition was awarded to Ahmed Al-Khatib from the Faculty of Arts and Educational Sciences; and the first place in the short story writing competition was awarded to Mira Al-Manasirah from the Faculty of Law, who also won the first place in the short story writing competition.
In this regard, Prof. Al-Mahadin extended her congratulations to the students and participants who had been successful in the competition. She further stated that the university regards human potential as a long-term investment, demonstrating the university’s commitment to developing its students’ capabilities, embracing their excellence, and supporting their aspirations.
