Amman: A major scientific achievement at Middle East University has pioneered a new approach to teaching scientific research methods, called the “integrative method.” “The Integrative Method,” a method that relies on the importance of a thorough comprehension of the relationships between the parts of the subject, contributes to building a comprehensive picture that achieves a deeper comprehension of the Media Research Methods course.
The scientific achievement is attributed to Dr. Laila Jarrar, a faculty member at the University’s Faculty of Media, who explained in her study published in the Journal of Studies in Humanities and Social Sciences: Humanities and Social Sciences, which is classified in the international database Scopus, that the “integrative method” achieved very positive results in terms of ease, understanding, and enjoyment, which emphasises the importance of this innovation and its impact on the development of the edia esearch curriculum in Jordanian universities.
The new approach to teaching Media Research Methods is based on nine (9) stages, which will assist the students to better and more effectively understand the principles of Media Research and apply them to the real world.
The study titled “The degree of effectiveness of the integrative method in teaching the media research methods course” is a descriptive study that relied on the survey method and performance evaluation of the research plans of 84 male and female students studying the media research methods course at the College of Media at the Middle East University. It was published in the Journal of Studies. The University of Jordan’s Humanities and Social Sciences has been classified within the international databases (SCOPUS Q4) in Volume 51, Issue 1 of 2024.
