Amman: Middle East University has launched the fourth edition of the Dr. Yacoub Nasereddin Free Reading and Creative Writing Award for the forthcoming 2024-2025 season. The award is open to students from all universities in Jordan.
The award, which is named after the founder of Middle East University and Chairman of its Board of Trustees, Dr. Yacoub Nasereddin, is a testament to his pioneering efforts to embrace youth, develop their creativity, consolidate the values of reading and writing as tools to improve intellectual and cognitive abilities, and enhance emotional communication with society, thus contributing to building a promising future for an established and strong country.
The award encourages students to interact with the Arabic language as a catalyst for creativity and thought, emphasising the university’s commitment to fostering literary talents and directing them towards achieving the noble goals of this initiative.The award comprises three main areas: free reading, creative writing in the fields of essay and short story, and essay and short story.
The submission of students’ works is to be made electronically via the dedicated website (ynpcrw.meu.edu.jo) until March 1, 2025.
