
The Faculty of Pharmacy at Middle East University organised a specialised workshop on public safety in laboratories, which was delivered by the head of the Public Safety Committee at the faculty, Dr. Mohammed Al-Wahsh, providing the students of the master’s degree with a comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of safety in the pharmaceutical laboratory environment.
The course covered key topics, including the classification of potentially harmful chemicals according to their characteristics and the safety procedures associated with each; the fundamental safety procedures, including the management of potential accidents within the laboratory setting, such as fires, injuries, and first aid methods; and the evacuation plans, which included training on how to deal with emergencies and how to evacuate the laboratory safely.
