Amman: Middle East University has entered into a collaboration agreement with the Jordanian-American Educational Exchange Commission, aiming to enhance the university’s capacity to adopt best practices from both the United States and Jordan. This will enable the university to prepare and employ students in the expanding sectors of the Jordanian economy.
The agreement was signed by JAEE’s Executive Director, Mr. Edward Prados, in the presence of the Linkages and Grants Programme Officer, Ms. Aya Al Sharfa, and the University’s President, Prof. Salam Al Mahadin, in the presence of her Vice President, Prof. Ahmad Al-Louzi, her Assistant for Promotion and Outreach Affairs, Ms. May Abu Hamdia, and relevant officials.
As a matter of fact, the agreement is intended to facilitate the development of partnerships and contacts between higher education institutions, with the objective of supporting institutional capacity building, assisting with the internationalisation of campuses, and enhancing the employability of youth.
Furthermore, the objective of the agreement is to enhance the quality of study plans and curricula in order to align them with the needs of the private sector and the requirements of the labour market.
In addition to the aforementioned agreement, a workshop attended by faculty deans and a number of faculty members was held to discuss potential avenues for collaboration. These discussions focused on the development of partnerships that aim to enhance youth employability, facilitate access to scholarships, and promote academic exchange programmes.
