Amman: Students from Middle East University achieved a notable triumph at the Arab Olympiad for Artificial Intelligence, which involved the participation of 350 students representing 20 prestigious universities and educational institutions. The students presented innovative concepts that exemplified the scientific advances of the 21st century.
The first-place winners in the fields of computer vision and embedded systems are Rehab Al-Saeedi, Rana Al-Ragad, and Anas Al-Sayed, all of whom are students at the Faculty of Information Technology.
Dr. Odai Al Maaytah, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, asserted that the winning students’ projects exemplified their dedication to directing their technical expertise towards the advancement of AI technology and their profound comprehension of the potential of AI to address real-world challenges. This demonstrated their commitment to expanding the frontiers of knowledge and driving positive change through technology.
The participating teams, which were supervised by three faculty members, namely Prof. Dr. Heba Nasser Eldin, Dr. Mohammed Al-Hawarat, and Engineer Laith Shihab, included the following students: Yousef Al Hamad, Rana Al Ragad, Rahab Abdulrahman, Ma’adh Obaid, Abdulrahman Al Kayyali, Bassam Al Boushi, Anas Al Sayed, Fares Al Otaibi, Anas Hassan, Tala Al Saudi, Zaidan Abu Sara, Yazeed Mowafi, Rahma Al Nahar, and Mohammed Al Wazzan.
