Amman: The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Middle East University, Senator Dr. Yaqoub Nasereddin, sponsored the activities Scientific Day, organised by the Faculty of Engineering, in the presence of the President of the Jordanian Engineers Association, Eng. Ahmad Samara Al-Zoubi, and the President of the University, Prof. Salam Al-Mahadin, and the deans of the faculties, emphasised that the university is fully aware of the requirements for economic advancement as outlined in the Royal Vision. These include the need to consider and work towards the communications revolution, information technology, and the fourth industrial revolution, which present a challenge to the nation as it enters the second centennial of the state and celebrates the Silver Jubilee of His Majesty King Abdullah II Bin Al Hussein’s assumption of his constitutional powers.
He highlighted that the challenges have compelled us to examine the ways in which we can leverage our abilities to serve our country and contribute to the collective national effort to enhance our competitive advantage and develop scientific expertise. He further noted that the initiatives spearheaded by HRH Crown Prince Al-Hussein Bin Abdullah to cultivate youth skills, excellence, entrepreneurship, and community service serve as a testament to the significance of establishing an enabling environment to move towards a new phase of the state that is prepared for the challenges that lie ahead.
“As time passes, our world presents us with challenges that demand bold and innovative solutions. On the campus of this esteemed university, we observe projects that have been developed by the brightest minds, who have invested considerable resources in them for a promising future,” said the President of the Jordanian Engineers Association.
Furthermore, he asserted that the university’s pivotal role in establishing the foundations of hard work cannot be overlooked, as it “clearly indicates that the world no longer needs traditionalists.” He added that the university has its own rules to prepare for the new world.
In response, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Ayman Al-Nsour, during his speech at the scientific day, which was presented by faculty member Dr. Mohammed Al-Husban, highlighted the significance of the scientific day for the Faculty of Engineering. He also noted that it is not merely an event in the academic calendar but a vital link in which the engineering spirit of students is displayed. Furthermore, he emphasised that it not only highlights the vitality of the engineering community at the university but also nurtures the spirit of intellectual curiosity and exploration.
It is noteworthy that Science Day was attended by 19 organisations. The scientific competition was followed by the presentation of the success stories of a number of graduates, which serves as a testament to the power of collective endeavours to push the boundaries of knowledge and harness the engineering potential worthy of future generations.
