Amman: Her Royal Highness Princess Rima Ali bin Naif presided over the graduation ceremony for the Diploma in Meteorology and its Modern Applications, offered by Middle East University in cooperation with Ard Group, owner of the ArabiaWeather brand.
The ceremony was attended by the President of the University, Prof. Salam Al-Mahadin, the Vice President, Prof. Ahmed Al-Louzi, the Director of the Consultancy, Training, and Languages Centre, Prof. Anis Al Mansour, the CEO of Ard Group, the owner of the ArabiaWeather brand, Mohammed Al-Shaker, the General Manager of ArabiaWeather and Ard Academy, Mr. Faris Shaaban, and the weather forecasting consultant at ArabiaWeather, Dr. Jamal Al-Mousa.
The training diploma, which is offered in collaboration with the ArabiaWeather Academy, is designed to provide individuals with the knowledge, skills, and expertise necessary to make significant contributions to meteorology and climate security.
In this regard, Prof. Al Mansour stated at the ceremony, which was presented by a faculty member at the Faculty of Arts and Educational Sciences, Dr. Jumana Al Salem, that the programme aims to educate experts who can comprehend the intricacies of weather and climate in the current era, where climate security is a crucial and pivotal aspect of modern human life, emphasising that the university’s collaboration with the ArabiaWeather Academy represents a strategic approach that is cognizant of the transformations occurring in the global landscape.
In this context, Prof. Shaaban expressed his pride in the exemplary partnership between the academy and the university. He noted that this partnership is particularly valuable in light of the current labor market, which demands exceptional human capabilities, a keen interest in achieving progress, and a serious commitment to addressing the impacts of human activity on ecosystems, human societies, and international security.
