Short bio: Dr. Adib Allahham has received the BS degree in electric engineering from Damascus University, Syria. Between 1999 and 2003, he worked at the energy industry. In 2004 and 2008 respectively, he received the MSc degree and Ph.D. from the Joseph Fourier University of Grenoble, France. In 2008, he joined GSCOP laboratory in France to work as post‐doctoral researcher. From 2009 till June 2016, he worked at Damascus University, Electrical Power engineering department, as Senior Lecturer. From 2016, he is a researcher in Newcastle University, School of Engineering. With power system team, Dr. Allahham participates in many research and industrial projects related to the field of microgrids, peer‐to‐peer energy trading, demand side response, and energy storage. His research interest is related to the control and diagnosis of PV systems, Energy Storage system, smart grid technologies, and grid connected renewable energy sources, and multi-vector energy integration. He has published more than 15 peer reviewed Journal and international conference papers. In his current role, Dr. Allahham is supervisor of PhD and MSc researchers. He is also involved in a number of research and teaching projects: National Centre of Energy Systems integration (CESI), InteGRIDy, and InTEGReL.
