Amman: A dialogue session organized by the Partisan Activities Division at the Deanship of Student Affairs at Middle East University provided students with the knowledge and skills needed to actively participate in democratic processes and shape the future of their societies.
The dialogue session was entitled “The Importance of the Role of Youth in Party Life” and was hosted by the Shabatat Foundation for Women’s Political Empowerment in collaboration with the Independent Election Commission.
The dialogue session, presented by representatives of the Independent Election Commission, Mr. Ahmad Abu Zeid and Mr. Ali Al-Junaidi, and moderated by the Foundation’s Director, Ms. Manal Kasht, discussed the importance of generating partisan thinking among university students in order to be part of the active political participation that is essential and vital for a healthy democracy.
The dialogue session promoted political empowerment, encouraging students to advocate for social justice and equality as they are potential agents of change, as well as instilling a sense of responsibility. When students learn that they have a role in the decisions made by their government and that their voices matter, it encourages them to take an active role in their communities, whether through volunteering, serving on advisory boards, or running for office themselves.
