Amman: The projects of students of the Faculty of Architecture and Design at Middle East University were the subject of considerable interest among the participants of the seventh Jordanian Architectural Conference, which was held under the auspices of Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Al-Khasawneh and organised by the Jordanian Engineers Syndicate.
The conference, entitled “Architecture and Artificial Intelligence,” was held at the Landmark Hotel in Amman and provided an opportunity for networking and intellectual exchange between experts, academics, and professionals from different countries.
In this respect, Dr. Ayman Awwad, Dean of the Faculty, stated that the students presented pioneering architectural ideas that demonstrated their advanced levels of expertise in architectural design sciences and tools, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence.
Dr. Shaden Abu Safiya, who supervised student projects and was a member of the preparatory committee, noted that the conference offered students the chance to present their work, which combined architecture and artificial intelligence, at the University Architectural Exhibition. This was entitled “Reviving Resilience in Gaza.”.
A faculty member, Walaa Al-Qarra, presented a research paper on the potential of artificial intelligence in the documentation of heritage buildings and the possibility of preserving them.
It is also worth noting that the number of students who participated in the conference was 33, who dedicated their advanced engineering knowledge gained during their studies to the fields of architecture and artificial intelligence. This represents an optimal convergence between the two disciplines, which holds the promise of revolutionising design processes, enhancing building performance, and redefining the way we interact with architecture and design.
