Amman: The students from Middle East University who participated in the Second Recycling Conference in Jordan demonstrated a high level of cognitive attributes and a growing familiarity with waste management and recycling techniques in the presence of local and international industry representatives.
The university has adopted an ambitious strategy that prioritises the development of comprehensive and contextually responsive environmental solutions, thereby propelling global initiatives towards the objective of green sustainability.
The exhibition, which was funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), brought together more than 62 local and international companies that showcased their innovative environmental products. These products highlighted the latest developments in recycling and sustainable waste management.
In this regard, Samer Abdul Dayem, Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre at the University, elucidated that participation in an exhibition dedicated to recycling and sustainable waste management constituted an invaluable opportunity for university students to gain insight into the latest technologies, methodologies, and innovations in this field, particularly in light of the rapid pace of progress made in waste treatment mechanisms, recycling techniques, and sustainable practices from all over the world.
In addition to that, the exhibition highlighted a variety of global issues that necessitate a collaborative and proactive approach. It facilitated the students’ acquisition of a comprehensive understanding of the challenges confronted by diverse countries and regions. This was achieved by recognising the social, economic, cultural, and organisational factors that shape recycling and waste management practices across the globe.
