Amman: The students of the Faculty of Media at Middle East University have been awarded first place in various categories of journalism at the Media Student Creativity Festival 2024.
The winners were honoured by the Youth Minister, Eng. Yazan Al-Shdeifat, at an event organised by the Faculty of Media at Zarqa University and supported by the Namaa Charity Foundation, a Kuwait-based organisation.
The festival witnessed the triumph of three students from the Faculty of Media at Middle East University. The first place in the podcast category was awarded to the student Moamen Hassan for his work ‘The Green Voice,’ while the student Lana Al-Kharouf secured second place in the digital work category for her piece ‘Digital Platform: Under the Weight of Conflict.’ The student Rand Bakir attained third place in the written journalism category for her work ‘Al-Rababa’ah: The First Blind Arab Broadcaster.’
The Director of the Media Training Centre, a faculty member at the Faculty of Media at Middle East University, Dr. Saddam Al-Mashaqabah, stated that the institution is dedicated to cultivating a generation of young journalists who are interested in significant developmental and societal issues. Students have been trained and equipped with the skills necessary to produce digital-quality media materials that offer solutions to environmental, scientific, economic, and developmental issues.
