The projects presented this year were distinguished by their focus on the reconstruction of Gaza from north to south and the revitalisation of displaced Palestinian villages, reflecting the students’ deep belief in the role of architecture in the renaissance of homelands and the preservation of their urban and cultural identity.
Among those who participated in the discussion of the projects were some of the most prominent names in the Jordanian architectural scene, including Eng. Ihab Amarin, Director of the Jordan Museum; Dr. Farouk Yaghmer; Eng. Bashar Al-Bitar; and Eng. Muhannad Harzallah.
In addition, several heads of architecture departments and deans from public and private universities in Jordan attended the discussions, making the event a unique platform that brings together academics and practitioners in the architectural field and opens new horizons for dialogue on issues of reconstruction and sustainable design.
According to the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Design, these projects are a testament to the ability of our students to address the real challenges facing our societies through architecture.
