Amman: The Department of Architecture at Middle East University’s Faculty of Architecture and Design is engaged in the process of attaining NAAB accreditation, which is granted by the American Architectural Commission for Academic Accreditation. This institution is regarded as one of the most significant and reliable authorities in the United States of America and the world for the accreditation of architecture programmes.
This statement was delivered during a workshop attended by the President of the University, Prof. Salam Al-Mahadin, the Dean of the College, Dr. Ayman Awad, the Head of the Department of Architecture, Dr. Shaden Abu Safiya, and members of the academic and administrative staff of the department.
The workshop was attended by the President of the University of Bahrain, Prof. Fouad Al-Ansari; the Head of the Department of Architecture and Interior Design at the University of Bahrain, Dr. Huda Al-Madhoob; the Coordinator of the International NAAB Accreditation Committee for the Department of Architecture at Al-Yamamah University in Saudi Arabia, Dr. Anwar Ibrahim; and the Vice Dean of Academic Development and International Outreach at the Hashemite University, Dr. Ahmed Al-Husban.
In this context, Prof. Al-Mahadin emphasised the significance of NAAB accreditation, which serves as a reliable indicator of the quality of educational programmes, enhances their reputation, and raises the standard of higher education. She further highlighted that it represents a valuable asset that cannot be overlooked or underestimated in the process of university education.
In his remarks, Dr. Awwad elucidated the advantages of the Faculty of Architecture and Design’s NAAB accreditation for students and graduates, including enhanced competitiveness in the job market and enhanced prospects for career success.
Dr. Abu Safiyeh outlined the importance of accreditation in attracting students seeking an optimal and enriching academic experience, as it ensures that students are prepared to succeed in a competitive and interconnected world.
