
Amman: A group of employers and specialists who participated in the meeting of the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences at Middle East University lauded the study plan adopted for the medical analysis and laboratory sciences program. They underscored the comprehensiveness and integration of the plan, its alignment with the labour market’s needs, and its coverage of all essential knowledge and practical skills. They further emphasised that this enhances the readiness of graduates and qualifies them to compete both locally and regionally.
Participants further recommended an emphasis on imparting scientific research skills in alignment with the demands of continuous professional development. They underscored the significance of fortifying the connection between the academic realm and the workforce by facilitating field visits to medical laboratories and offering periodic professional lectures. These measures are intended to equip students with the necessary skills to practice their profession and hone their practical abilities.
The meeting was attended by Medlab and Biolab for the medical analysis sector, Al-Khalidi Hospital for the fertility and IVF sector, and Oasis of Science for the research and medical devices sector.
The attendees engaged in a discourse on the future of the medical laboratory science profession within the local market. They identified the most significant challenges confronting graduates in the context of rapid transformations and legislative changes pertaining to the Laboratory Licensing Law. Additionally, they conducted a review of the essential knowledge areas that graduates should acquire to enhance their employability and attain professional excellence.
