MEU concluded a cooperation agreement with the Jordan Green Building Council with the aim of expanding the area of investment in the green and sustainable university structure based on natural energy sources such as sun and water.
The agreement, which was signed on behalf of the university by the Vice President for Administrative and Legal Affairs, Prof. Dr. Anees Al-Mansour, and on behalf of the council, the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors, Engineer Salim Abu Khader, focused on attracting partners concerned with environmental design, raising the efficiency of using renewable energy for individuals and buildings, and recycling waste.
The agreement stated that the university would be merged with the American Green Building Council to develop and design the “LEED LAB” programme on entrepreneurship in environmental design, energy conservation for individuals and buildings, in addition to evaluating the performance of existing facilities at MEU’s campus, by involving students in the integrative process for establishment of green buildings.
