Department Director’s word

Since its foundation, the Department of Engineering and Services has been keen on providing premier services and ensuring the safety and security of all the University’s students, employees, and the MEU campus as a whole. The Department is responsible for maintaining a suitable and modern university environment that facilitates students’ academic journey. We are always on the lookout for projects that extend the university’s buildings and facilities’ longevity, and develop MEU’s surrounding environment on and off campus. The staff making up our three departments: the Services Department, the Security and Protection Department, and the Buildings and Facilities Maintenance Department; are committed to the Department’s vision (excellence in providing services and ensuring a safe and competitive university environment) and its mission (advancing the quality of technical and engineering services, and maintaining the University’s infrastructure, facilities, and assets in a manner that extends their longevity and ensures the safety and security of the University’s students, staff, and visitors). We are dedicated to achieving the Department’s objectives and applying the policies and procedures set by the University’s presidency. We are rigorous in combating any and all instances of disobedience and violence on the MEU campus. We deploy guards from the Department to patrol all of MEU’s sites and facilities around the clock to continually enforce all safety and security codes.
The Department also fulfills the University’s hygienic maintenance needs by contracting qualified cleaning service providers, and follows up on all maintenance matters with the help of our qualified staff who address the University’s various electric and mechanic needs. Our Department also works towards maintaining all the University’s green spaces and sustainably cares for all the trees and plants on the campus by watering them with recycled and purified used water from the University’s facilities and buildings.
We outlined the Department of Engineering and Services’ Strategic Plan for (2019-2024) in response to the directions of the Chairman of MEU’s Board of Trustees and the University President, and in commitment to MEU’s strategic priorities, future envisions, and general policy. This five-year plan was set after our evaluation of the (2014-2019) plan, thus we believe it will make way for enhanced performance and results.
The newly-outlined strategic plan is based on five focal points:
First Focal Point: Strategic Plan Methodology
Second Focal Point: Strategic Plan Benchmarks
Third Focal Point: Strategic Priorities
Fourth Focal Point: Strategic Plan’s General Model
Fifth Focal Point: Strategic Plan Stages

We hereby vow to the Chairman of MEU’s Board of Trustees, the University President, and all university councils to implement our strategy in a highly-professional manner, sparing no effort to advance our university’s academic reputation on local and international scales.
